Why couples use a honeymoon specialist
A honeymoon is the one trip where the difference between a good room and the right room is the whole trip. Honeymoon specialists know which resorts actually deliver the overwater bungalow you saw online, which islands are in rainy season the month you travel, and which four-star properties quietly treat honeymooners better than the five-star ones next door.
Because resorts and tour operators pay us commission, our planning typically costs you nothing — and the perks (upgrades, spa credits, champagne on arrival) come from relationships we book with every month, not from a form you fill in at check-in.
Where Chicago couples go
Maldives and Bora Bora for the classic overwater escape. Italy and Greece for food, ruins, and coastline. Hawaii for volcanoes without a passport. Costa Rica for adventure on a shorter flight. The Caribbean — St. Lucia, Antigua, Turks and Caicos — for beach weeks that fit a tight budget. We will tell you honestly which of these fits your dates, your budget, and your idea of a perfect week — including the ones we would talk you out of.
What is included
Destination and resort selection matched to your budget and season. Flight routing that does not eat your first day. Room category and view selection — the difference between a garden-view and an overwater villa is exactly what we are for. Honeymoon registry setup so guests can contribute to the trip instead of buying the third toaster. And documentation with each resort so they know it is a honeymoon before you arrive.
How it works
1. Tell us about the trip
A short call or email — who's traveling, when, and what you want out of it. Fifteen minutes is usually enough.
2. Get a tailored plan
Your advisor comes back with a concrete itinerary and pricing — options, not a menu of everything.
3. We book and stand behind it
We handle reservations, changes, and the details en route. If something goes sideways while you travel, you call a person, not a hold queue.
Common questions
Does using a honeymoon travel agent cost more?
Almost never. Resorts, cruise lines, and tour operators pay agencies commission on the same rates you would book direct. In practice couples often pay less, because we know which promotions and room categories are worth the money — and which are not.
How far in advance should we plan our honeymoon?
Six to twelve months is ideal for the best flight prices and first pick of rooms, especially for the Maldives and peak-season Europe. That said, we plan honeymoons on every timeline — including the couples who call two weeks after the wedding.
Can guests contribute to our honeymoon instead of buying gifts?
Yes — we set up a honeymoon registry where guests contribute toward specific parts of the trip: a dinner, a spa day, an excursion. It works like a gift registry, but the gift is the trip.
Do you also handle destination weddings?
We do — including guest room blocks and resort contracts. See our destination wedding page, or just ask on the call; the same advisors handle both.
We are not from Chicago — can we still work with you?
Most of our couples never visit the office. Planning happens by phone, email, and video call, so we work with couples anywhere in the US.
